♥ The Sweet Life ♥: ITBS Scores and P/T Conferences...

Well, Gage made us extremely proud once again at Parent/Teacher Conferences. His report card was full of O's, which means Outstanding, and his ITBS Scores were amazing!!! Mrs. Woods, aka-Aunt Karen, said that he always thinks things through before he gives his answers. That, my friends, comes from his father. Steve never makes a quick decision. He thinks about it, and stews over it, and you can just see his wheels turning. And he always has the right answer or makes the right choice because of it. Then she told us that his behavior is great, he listens well, gets along with everyone, but he does tend to talk a bit too much. And there it is....the one trait that he got from me!!!! Not one of the finer things that I could have passed on to him. We'll just hope that his smart decision making over comes his chattiness! We were very pleased with his ITBS scores, too. He earned a Core Total grade equivalent of 3.5 on the test, which means his performance is the same as that of a student in third grade at the end of the 5th month. He ranked 95 percent and higher on each category with an average of 98. This means that he scored higher than 98 percent of first grade students nationally. Amazing!!! After the Conference was over Gage was excited to take Steve around and show him everything. His desk, his locker, the classroom he goes to for ELP Math, and the new library and gym! We were there a lot longer than we planned, but it was meaningful to Gage so that is what mattered. He was most proud to show Steve and I the Crazy Puzzle Wall of Fame in the ELP room. All students in ELP are given these crazy puzzles to figure out. I believe there are 9 to 12 cards with patterns on them. The cards have to be placed next to each other in a way that they match perfectly with the pattern on the card next to, above, and below it. Gage is the first 1st grader to ever finish one. Each time they get one done they get their picture up on this Wall of Fame under their grade, and since he is the first 1st grader his is the only picture up there! He was so excited!!! And then the new gym is finished and it is beautiful so we had to scope it out and the boys ran some energy off while we were in there. Madison is such a wonderful school and we are so lucky to have Gage be there! I do believe we will be celebrating his accomplishments while we are on Spring Break, too! We are so, so, so proud of him and who he is becoming!!
