4th of July weekend...
So the weekend was jam packed with things we wanted to do, but the rainy weather kind of put a damper on some of those things. We wanted to take the boat out on the river for the day and then watch the fireworks from there, but instead we lounged around the house and then after a little nap we headed to the movies to see Ice Age 3. The kids really enjoyed the movie. It was filled with lots of Dinosaur action, which they both loved!! After the movie we got pizza and decided to take it out to the campground where Steve's parents were staying and eat it there. We chose to skip the parade this year since everything was just pretty soggy. We wanted to let the boys do thier sparklers there, and then the plan was to go back in for the fireworks, but as the night went on we chose to just stay at the campground and watch the fireworks from the dock. We could see the Davenport ones, the Moline ones, the ones from the ballpark, and even the ones from Andelusia. The kids were getting bored since the fireworks weren't really close, so we headed back in to town to catch the last of Muscatine's, but we ended up finding the perfect spot to pull over on a back road to watch them. We turned the Muscatine radio station on and listened to the Patriotic music they had on and we opened the windows and enjoyed the nice night. It was much more comfortable inside the truck and we didn't have to haul chairs or anything else to a crowded spot. It was just kind of a blah day, and I didn't get near the cute pictures that I usually get. It was still nice to spend it with my boys none-the-less.
