Enough is enough...

Ok. So I've procrastinated, err put off, err just plain been trying to enjoy the last days of summer before school starts, but it's time. Time to post about our wonderful, fun filled, relaxing vacation we took to southern Missouri. It's not going to be short, believe you me! We took nearly 900 pictures! So I will do many different posts as to not bore you all at one time!
I cannot begin to explain how nice it was to just spend time away with my family. The boys were so well behaved the entire time we were gone. We just thoroughly enjoyed each other and the fact that Steve was with us. All day. Every day. And didn't have to get up to go to work. We didn't set any alarms. We didn't rush here nor there. We just went with the flow. We basked in the sun. We swam in the pools. We relaxed on the deck. We took jacuzzi baths. We made to-die-for breakfasts. We had wonderful conversations and laughs with our friends. And we explored the 76 strip in Branson and did so many fun things there, too.
Our condo was absolutely fantastic! Our view was unbelievable from our room and the deck. We were literally right next to the lake. We cooked a lot while we were there, but it really didn't seem like we were slaving away or anything. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil, skillet, appliance, dish...etc...that you could think of, so we took advantage and had some wonderful meals together! As a matter of fact...I feel like all we did was eat while we were gone! But everything was so good, and we had to feed the kids....right?! :)
We stayed in Kimberling City at the condo from Saturday to Saturday, and then we headed toward St. Louis for a few days to stay with Steve's Aunt and Uncle that live in a Suburb just outside of there. Drake actually cried on the day we were loading up the truck to leave the condo. He just kept saying "I don't want to leave vacation!" Isn't that just too cute!!
But needless-to-say we hit Uncle Randy's house and all was good. We all had a blast there with them, too! This part of our vacation was a little more on the busy side. We only had Saturday night, Sunday, and Monday with them, so we wanted to do as much as we could. And boy did we! We grilled out and had some drinks together, we went out on the lake with them, we shopped, we ate out, we went swimming in their neighborhood pool and had pizza poolside...we had so much fun! It was good to see them! Staying at their house literally cut our drive home in half, too. And I am so glad because as much fun and relaxation as we had, it's still nice to return home to your own bed. Oh wait...but not without hitting a Fireworks Outlet store before we did!!
:)

Our drive down and back with the boys was pretty great! They were so good and just watched out the window,or colored and drew,or played PSP.

The views were pretty spectacular, too! The farther you get into Missouri the more rock walls you see along the road. They are amazing and beautiful!

And at times there are just trees as far as the eye can see.

And the roads begin to get wind-y!

And up hill...

And back down hill!

And they will just blast out some rock anywhere and stick in a mall, or an amusement park, or a gas station and not think twice about it!

And it is beautiful!!

But after so long....I missed our corn fields.

And being able to see past the cars ahead of you.

Or 10 foot past the edge of the road.

But seeing it in it's essence is truly spectacular!
